Chocolate Banana Cake

We love it. The cake is moist and tasty – just the way I like them. Our family likes this cake so much that it is the most commonly baked cake in our house. It started life as a banana cake but we found the chocolates adds that special something.

Chocolate Banana Cake

Moist and tasty.

Ingredients
  

  • 125 grams butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed bananas about 3
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons hot milk
  • Packet of dark chocolate chips or chunks
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Method
 

  1. cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Add mashed bananas and mix well
  4. Dissolve soda in the milk
  5. Add to batter
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips or chunks over mixture.
  7. Sift flour and baking powder onto mixture
  8. Mix
  9. Bake at 180º C for 50 minutes.

Notes

We never ice this cake. Sometimes, if we care more about aesthetics than usual, we'll dust with icing sugar.
