Cheese Sauce

Simple but tasty recipe that can form that basis for a dish of vegetables or pasta, either on hob or baked in the oven.

  1. 25 grams butter
  2. 2 tablespoons flour
  3. 2 cups milk
  4. 1/2 cup yellow cheese, grated
  5. 4 teaspoons mustard (smooth Dijon or something like that)
  6. salt and pepper
  1. Melt butter in sauce pan
  2. Add flour
  3. Stir and cook until frothy
  4. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly until boils and thickens
  5. Remove from heat
  6. Add cheese, mustard, salt and pepper
  7. Stir
  1. Serve over boiled vegetables or pasta. Option to bake in the oven at 190º C for 20 min with 1/4 cup additional cheese sprinkled over the top.
