Actually I don’t know whether this dish is Portuguese or Brazilian but Ines Rato who gave the recipe to me is Portuguese. Ines served this up at her place to a large group and it was yum. Aside from the potatoes mentioned below she served it with Brazilian lentils.
Ingredients
Method
- Clean the fat (white) from the lamb
- Mix paprika, garlic, wine, salt and pepper
- Baste lamb with the spice mix
- Put oil and onion on top of the lamb
- Leave over night
- Dot the lamb with butter
- Heat oven to 180º C
- Cook lamb in oven for 2+ hours, turn after 1/2 hour
- Boil potatoes
- Add potatoes to the lamb sauce
