Marie’s Chicken and Potato on the Hob

Marie served this to me late one night. It was left over from a meal the previous day. But it was so good I asked her to make it again. The fresh version was just as good.

  1. 12 Chicken Drumsticks
  2. 3-4 (Robert says 6) cloves of garlic, crushed
  3. Salt
  4. Black Pepper
  5. Sweet Paprika
  6. Oil
  7. 1 kg potato, peeled and cut into 1 cm slices
  8. More Salt
  9. More Black pepper
  10. More Sweet Paprika
  11. 1 cup water
    1. Coat the chicken in the garlic, salt, pepper and paprika
    2. Heat the oil in a large pan (it should have a lid as you'll have to cover it latter.
    3. Fry the chicken on all sides until coloured
    4. Coat the potato in the extra salt, pepper and paprika
    5. Layer the potato over the chicken
    6. Add the water to pan
    7. Cover
    8. Bring to boil
    9. Lower temperature
    10. Cook until potato cooked without stirring.
