Honey Soy Chicken

Depending on the ingredients and proportions this recipe can be anything from a Japanese teriyaki through to a Chinese honey braised soy chicken. Whatever the consistency you’ll end up with a sweet sticky chicken delight. You will need to prepare the Honey Soy Sauce / Marinade.

Ingredients
  1. 900 grams boneless chicken breast or thigh fillets
  2. One serving of Honey Soy Sauce / Marinade
Instructions
  1. Place chicken in single layer in shallow dish
  2. Pour marinade over the chicken
  3. Cover
  4. Marinate in refrigerator for one hour (although could leave overnight).
  5. Preheat BBQ (mine is a Weber Charcoal kettle)
  6. Cook chicken fillets, covered, on indirect heat for 20 minutes, turning once.
  7. Chicken is done when it's juices run clear.

Honey Soy Braised Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  1. Chicken Wings
  2. 2 tablespoons oil
  3. One serving of Honey Soy Sauce / Marinade
Instructions
  1. Cut wings into 3 (discard tips)
  2. Fry chicken in oil for 3-4 min
  3. Add sauce, stir
  4. Simmer until chicken tender (~30 min)
  5. Stir frequently at end to prevent glaze burning
Notes
  1. You can use bigger chicken pieces if you want, in which case you don't have to chop them up.
